I grew up in Pincourt. My mom and dad just sold their house after 40 years there. The town has changed so much from the bumpkin days of the past where it was known as the boonies. There are many more conveniences now, community activities and homes! Lots of new homes!

Pincourt is on the Island of Ile Perrot which supports 4 towns, along with heritage sites, farms, great biking, water sports, golf and cross country skiing. The Island center has always been woods and agriculture. These days the woods are being cut into for way of new high end homes.“

In Pincourt, after 20 years of minimal growth – about 35 new homes a year – this year, more than 250 new homes will go up.That’s in addition to the 250 homes that went up in 2005, 2006 and the 250 that went up the year before that. Modest townhouses, luxury condos, four-bedroom family homes, schools, parks, and big box stores like Vaudreuil’s new Wal-Mart and Home Depot are all going up at record speed.”

“The development means that Pincourt’s 10,000 residents will have a reduced tax burden. And, unlike many on-island municipalities, Pincourt has managed to keep 30 per cent of its land for parks, she said, adding the standard amount is 10 per cent.” See full article

Besides some of the homes along the water, when I grew up Pincourt, real estate was all about modesty. It was the place people came to get their bang for their buck. They were trading price for location. This in essence is still the case; however people are now flocking onto the Island because of more then just modest homes.

In the past these have been solds for homes in the price range of $300K and up:

Year (Jan-Dec) Amount of houses sold
2006 9*
2005 3*
2004 1*
2003 2*
2002 0*
2001 1*
1997 0*

*These figures represent what has sold through the Greater Montreal Real Estate Board and not through private sales or developers.
