Decorating is for the Homeowners enjoyment – Staging is setting up the home to appeal to as many buyers as possible
- Decorating involves a larger budget – Staging usually has a limited budget
- Decorating usually means adding – Staging means reducing, neutralizing and de-cluttering
- Decorating involves a longer time line – In staging you work with short time-frames
Does this mean I have poor decorating taste?
No. Your decorating taste could be excellent. The object with staging, however, is to appeal to as many buyers as possible. This means that certain elements in your house need to be changed although they might be very beautiful.
But I think my home is beautifully decorated. Why should I change it?
It may well be beautiful and appeal to everyone in your entourage, but it may not appeal to most buyers in the market today. Most buyers may not have the same interests and taste as you.
What will happen to all the things you remove when you de-clutter?
Our staff will pack your things in boxes and they will be stored in a place that we have mutually agreed upon. This could be a basement storage area, or if there is no extra storage space in your house, we could arrange temporary storage for you through our partners.
