The biggest issues that I see in buying and selling is the stress that goes along with it. Problems with a house, irregularities with the certificate of location, money issues, fear of finding the right home, not sure where to start, not enough time…the list can go on and on.

Stress is the biggest hump that buyers and sellers have to overcome. The rest of it are problems that need solutions, that’s all. There are a lot of dangers when stress is involved. First, I see a lot of breakdowns, I’ve seen fighting among couples and within the buyers and sellers. I’ve seen people panic and make bad decisions, and people just being stuck and afraid to move forward.

These are my great tips for you:

  • Get all your sleep, eat healthy, exercise, walk in nature, laugh, meditate and let go.
  • Know that your Realtor is an educated expert and will hold your hand through everything and guide you every step of the way.
  • Speak up, give your opinion and don’t be afraid to do so!
  • Know that the house picks you and not the other way around. There will be no second guesses, you’ll know when you see it.
  • All problems are challenges with solutions.
  • Get a second opinion…there are many resources out there for everything.
  • If you need more information: ASK
  • No question is a stupid question and no, you aren’t going crazy.

I’ve seen some shocking situations in my business and so nothing surprises me anymore. I’ve seen the buyer and seller go at it at the notary’s office and the seller threatening not to sell. I’ve seen a seller yell and scream at the agent presenting an offer because she felt it too low and then see her run upstairs to her room and slam the door. I’ve seen a drunk owner verbally attack my buyer during a visit and not back off. I’ve had a seller scream at me and threaten reporting me to the OACIQ for telling her I thought her house was priced to high (wasn’t my client).

Geez, I should write a book about it.
